Hood-type furnaces have their field of application where extremely heavy and large batches have to be heat-treated. They are particularly used for heat-treatment processes such as gas carburizing, carbonitriding and annealing.

In combination with corresponding peripheral units such as tempering and pre-oxidation furnaces, washers, grate transport and storage equipment, process visualization, and documentation, a fully automatic operation is possible with this type of furnace.
